My mom and dad went to Fort Myers, Florida on January 1, 2017. Dad was working on a FedEx building there.

My dad builds all of those things inside there so that our packages can get to us when our parent's order us surprises! I LIKE SURPRISES!
When mom and dad first got there, I wasn't with them. Instead it was just them and my brother, Buddy Catdog. I didn't come until later, in February. They missed me so much so they asked my hooman brother, Zac to bring me to them.
Mom says that Fort Myers has been her favorite place so far. But of course, we all know that any place where I am will be her favorite! There are really two cities: Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. When I talk about it, I will just call it "Fort Myers".
One reason my mom loved it so much was because of the weather. They say it has endless summer. Mom was so excited to have a tan line in January! The weather was absolutely beautiful. Of course, it rained some but not enough to spoil our fun!

A lot of the people there during the winter months are called "Snow birds". That just means that they live up north somewhere and come to Florida or other warmer states during the winter. I guess it's like the northern birds who fly south for the winter!
There are plenty of family things to do. Beaches, restaurants, and outlet malls. One really cool thing is the connection to Fort Myers and Henry Ford. Unless of course you are a Chevy person. Henry Ford bought land next to his friend and mentor, Thomas Edison. That was way back in 1916! Now, both of their estates are museums! There is even a restaurant called "Ford's Garage".
Mom and dad took me to a beach! The name of it is Bonita Beach Dog Beach. I got to run and play and splash in the water! I didn't even have to have to supervise my mom or dad by staying on my leash! There were fur babies all over the place! It was so much fun! One other fur baby even shared his ball with me!

Be sure to check out the Fort Myers PowerPoint under the "travel" button!!!
Stay tuned for a fun adventure called Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. It wasn't fur baby friendly because of all of the critters that live there, so I didn't get to go. Mom will tell you all about it!
Until next time, hugz and slobbery smooches!
Love, Suki
